GamingForInsight is founded on the idea of sharing gained insight with others.
I find that I often know that I know nothing, and I take that approach with my passion for gaming-related technology. My eccentric and technical personality has me always searching for more on how to best play my favorite games.
My purpose is to share my passion and insight across different platforms in order to help those who are entering into the handheld gaming world.
History
A dear friend of mine encouraged me to get onto YouTube and create content.
He expressed I could share videos on my various projects. The first video we did together was on a hard drive install on a PS4 (Figure 1) in 2016.
Prior to that, another individual at the time inspired me to share my gameplay of Bloodborne boss fights on YouTube (Figure 1). The channel had begun. Bloodborne is my top favorite game, and Elden Ring is a close competitor to it; in playing Bloodborne, you have the option to collect insight, and when you multi-play with others, you use insight. This concept inspired me to arrive at the channel's name in the form of Gaming_for_insight (G_f_i).
I worked with a group of friends to create videos, providing help and guidance to the best of my ability. I still had much to learn in the space for my hobby, passion, and interest.

I avidly followed updates and developments for AAA games, and I was encouraged to share the knowledge of those updates with others who would want to hear and listen.
Life events and challenges created a hiatus of time when I stepped away from content creation. An individual at the time inspired me to return to YouTube to create content.
In 2023, I began the podcast and show Last Week in Gaming, where my core group of friends would share with me time in a show to talk about games we look forward to playing when they release or are already playing that have updates to them (Figure 5). This window of time introduced me to podcasting. The show did not receive the support it needed to continue.
I had been using my Steam Deck LCD since the summer of 2022, and on April 1, 2023, I saw the release of the Asus ROG Ally commercial. I made the decision that I wanted to get another gaming handheld.

In June of 2023, I pivoted the channel to focus on gaming handhelds, specifically my Steam Deck LCD and my ROG Ally. I hadn't thought of a video to start and said I would await receiving my ROG Ally.
The setup process for the ROG Ally was not straightforward. I found myself spending much more time than I anticipated setting it up for first-time use. I expressed how time-consuming the process was to those close to me, and I was encouraged to create a YouTube video on the knowledge I gained during the process. I published a video sharing my insight on setting up my ROG Ally (Figure 5).
The eventual change in the video thumbnail design was inspired by OKest Gamer as he designed a template for GamingForInsight to use for building thumbnails for uploaded videos.

During the summer of 2023, I decided to rebrand Gaming_for_insight with a new logo and banner.
Soon after, I discovered ETA PRIME's channel and was captivated by his video on the Ayaneo 2S.
I decided to back the 2S upon the start of its campaign on Indiegogo, which became the third gaming handheld in my collection. At the time of receiving my Ayaneo 2S, I began creating additional content for my three handhelds at the time, including segments like Save Battery Best Settings (Figure 6) and Which Handheld Plays It Better (Figure 7).
During the latter part of 2023, I discovered that companies, including Ayaneo and OneXPlayer, had servers on Discord and that there was a large community there.

I was able to collaborate with others to discover how to solve challenges with getting our individual Ayaneo 2S gaming handhelds set up and optimized
Soon after I uploaded another video to Gaming_for_insight titled Ayaneo 2S Setup (Figure 8).
The Ayaneo 2S setup process had similarities in experience to when I set up my ROG Ally. The Ayaneo community on Discord was a great place to share and gain insight.

I was also engaging on another server, One-netbook Official, and it was there that I had my first conversation with OKest Gamer.
My conversation with OKest Gamer was brief. He asked me if I was a content creator after I expressed that I subscribed to his channel. I confirmed I was the content creator for Gaming_for_insight. This was when he invited me to join a small group he was putting together to mentor and help build their channels. He said it would be an opportunity to learn and grow. I felt honored to have the opportunity and gladly participated in the beginning conversations on Discord to collaborate in founding Handhelds United.
Handhelds United was founded by CPPC TEK, Handheld Hardware, OKest Gamer, Gamers' Generation, and WinDeck Tech in September 2023. In the interim between the initial conversations and establishing Handhelds United with these channels, who have become close friends in the process, I was learning how to improve and grow as a content creator. Gaming_for_insight was mentioned for the very first time in another YouTube video by WinDeck Tech.
Near the conclusion of 2023, we discussed how to start sharing Handhelds United and familiarizing ourselves with the gaming handheld content creation space with our recently founded server on Discord. I introduced the idea of a podcast and volunteered to serve as its host. From there, we began the Handhelds United podcast in December with, Handhelds United Episode 1 Official Launch (reference: https://www.youtube.com/live/MaFbz9O4oaU?si=sRXqWu2gCZhA0Mm8).
During the summer of 2024, I found that we were covering topics on software emulation, and I reasoned that I needed to deepen my understanding of the topic to be able to host the podcasts as best as someone could. I took up the project to repurpose my Logitech G Cloud gaming handheld as a streaming machine and transform it into a software emulation machine.
I began avidly watching Retro Game Corps content and perused his guides to begin with emulation and setting up emulators. Through his content, Retro Game Corps inspired me to engage in emulation, and I still remain a dedicated subscriber and watch his content. His guides enabled me to deepen my understanding of emulation (reference the first guide I read of Retro Game Corps: https://retrogamecorps.com/2022/03/13/android-emulation-starter-guide/) so that I could grow in sharing emulation-based content as a host of the Handhelds United podcast (and I was able to repurpose successfully my Logitech G Cloud).
The first hands-on segment I made for software emulation was on the Handhelds United podcast in Hands on with AYN Odin 2 Mini & Onexplayer X1 Mini... and who says data is safe? (reference: https://www.youtube.com/live/sAgvaCTY44E?si=Ee1ewPsSJcyRCDRy). I went hands-on with my Odin 2 Mini to share insight on Emulation Station and PS Vita (Vita3k) emulation.
The summer of 2024 resulted in my taking a hiatus from creating content on Gaming_for_insight and only focusing on researching software and hardware emulation and creating content as a host of the Handhelds United podcast. Life events and challenges resulted in me taking a further hiatus for the remainder of 2024. However, that hiatus was soon to conclude following CES 2025.
I had the opportunity to join OKest Gamer at CES 2025 and assist him as a staffer for his show. CES 2025 provided an opportunity to re-inspire me to create content for gaming handhelds, which I greatly needed from the life events and challenges I was facing prior to the CES 2025.
I had the opportunity to visit and meet with ETA PRIME. It was soon after that I got to hold the Ayaneo 2S device that I understood was the black color version one that he, ETA PRIME, included in the very video that inspired me to back the device (on Indiegogo) in the summer of 2023. It was at that moment I remembered what excited me so intently about gaming handhelds and what made me passionate about them as well - tuning handhelds to operate in a way that you can play your favorite games and experience their unique form factor and software interface, as well as enjoy the aesthetic of them each in doing so.
While at CES 2025, I gained a rich amount of knowledge in content creation.
The experience of CES 2025 and the knowledge from OKest Gamer, as well as insight from other creators, including Cyber Dopamine. The content I am creating following CES 2025 is an infusion of everything I learned.
The approach to begin creating content on emulation for GamingForInsight came from meeting Stubbs and the humble approach he had with me - as someone so advanced in hosting a very successful podcast covering topics on emulation and having created the vast amount of successful content on emulation I did not expect someone to ask me of all people if there was a way he could make what he does better.
The return from CES 2025 inspired me to rebrand Gaming_for_insight as GamingForInsight and have with it a new logo, new YouTube banner, introduction video (for the first time), and new segments, including Quick Chat. Gaming_for_insight was renamed GamingForInsight. The Quick Chat segments are built upon the daily video updates I helped with for OKest Gamer covering CES 2025. The rest of the story for GamingForInsight is left to history and in a story yet to be told.
